Will Lindsay Lohan's Shoplifters' Anonymous Class Keep Her Out of Jail?

Lindsay Lohan, who is due for a probationary hearing today, apparently attended a Shoplifters' Anonymous course last night, perhaps to prove she's turned over a new leaf.

Curiously enough, sources close to Lohan claim she's already completed the course, according to TMZ.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner will determine today if Lohan has broken the rules of her probation.

The prosecutor in this case, Deputy City Attorney Melanie Chavira, will pose that Lohan purposely violated her probation, showing a lack of respect for the legal system. Chavira will likely recommend the maximum year-and-a-half sentence for the problem-plagued movie star.

The reason for the troubled starlet's legal woes came from allegations that she has violated the terms of her probation, which-in lieu of more serious measures-included 360 hours of community service.

The Downtown Women's Center in Los Angeles, an assistance center and shelter for homeless women since 1978, was originally Lohan's assigned volunteering area. However, the star was reported as staying less than an hour out of the four hours required per session.

Lohan neglecting to attend nine arranged sessions was the last straw: she was kicked from the program, and placed into another volunteering plan, this time with the American Red Cross.

According to reports, the actress has only fulfilled 21 hours of her 360-hour community service. She also has not mopped a single floor at the Los Angeles County coroner's office, where she was supposed to do 120 hours of custodial labor before April 2012.

In an attempt to defend herself Tuesday night, Lohan tweeted: "I just want it to be known, that just because I was not followed&photographed during the times I've gone to community service, does NOT mean that I wasn't following my obligations (by going) to the court."

Due to overcrowding in California jails, there's a possibility that even a verdict of guilty may not send Lohan to jail. The star could be sentenced to house arrest.

According to David Wohl, a California criminal defense lawyer, "...the reality is that there simply is no room in L.A. county jails for a low-level offender like Ms. Lohan," he told a FOX411 Pop Tarts columnist.

So will Lindsay Lohan go to jail? We'll find out after the hearing, which takes place at 10am PT.
