Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich Coming to Samsung's Galaxy Ace 2?
The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 will eventually be able to upgrade to Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, according to a leaked promotional video for the device.
In the leaked video, at about 14 seconds in, the smartphone is displayed with the ICS logo on the screen and a caption underneath that reads ICS upgradable.
Now, this video could have been altered or tampered with by a fan, but that is unlikely.
There is a good chance that this device will have the ability to upgrade to the latest Android software.
The reason why some thought ICS would not come to the Galaxy Ace 2 is due to the fact that it possesses less impressive specifications than other Samsung devices.
However, the fact that HTC's Desire C has ICS and only has a single-core processor proves that the Galaxy Ace can handle the software since it possesses a dual-core chip.
Other specifications on the handset include a 3.8 PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen display that has 480 x 800 pixels with a 246 ppi pixel density, Samsung's TouchWiz v3.0 UI, 4GB of storage with the ability to upgrade 32GB with a microSD, 768 MB RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and a dual-core 800 MHz processor.
The HTC Desire C features a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels and a 165 ppi pixel density, HTC Sense UI v4.0, 4GB of internal storage, microSD slot, 512 MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and a single-core 600 MHz processor.
The Desire C comes with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich stock while the Galaxy Ace comes with Gingerbread.
Both smartphones are impressive low-end devices.
And HTC seems to be one of the first smartphone manufacturers to launch multiple devices with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed.
