Although Carey has not provided any details about an upcoming tour, the singer keeps her fans informed about work on a new album.

"In the studio, recording w/ Randy Jackson, Loris Holland & some truly amazing musicians," posted Carey on Friday. "Can't wait till u hear it."

Meanwhile, the 43-year-old "We Belong Together" singer has made headlines with her recent weight loss. Carey has revealed her new body on the cover of Shape magazine this month, as well as the secret to her success.

"I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet," said the singer speaking to Shape. "Today my workout routine is more about getting and staying toned, and for me, that means either taking hour-long walks a few times a week or jumping in the pool three or four days a week to do 45-minutes of aquatic exercise."

Carey promotes the Jenny Craig plan which has helped her lose weight gained during her pregnancy with twins Morocco and Monroe, which she shares with husband Nick Cannon.

After opening up about her weight loss, Carey also discussed Cannon's recent health scare. The 31-year-old was hospitalized for kidney failure as well as a lupus-like autoimmune disease, but has recovered.

"It was really frightening," said Carey. "He's feeling much stronger. He's taking better care of himself, eating a diet low in sodium and sugar, and getting more sleep."
