Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviewed former United States Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, who provided new information related to the Jan. 6, 2021, United States Capitol riot that led to the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump. While Trump was ultimately acquitted, the events of Jan. 6, 2021, continue to loom large in American political discourse as Trump seeks the Republican nomination for president in the 2024 presidential election.

Democrats and the mainstream media have consistently portrayed the events of Jan. 6, 2021, as a spontaneous result of Trump’s encouragement to his supporters to go to the Capitol building to protest Congress’ certification of the 2020 presidential elections and have described it as the worst attack on American democracy since the Civil War.

Carlson’s interview with Sund, published on Twitter Thursday, comes after his former employer, Fox News, did not air his earlier interview with the former Capitol Police chief.

Carlson shared his interview with Sund on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, in which he described the former law enforcement official’s testimony as an account of “what really happened on January 6th.”

Here are five facts revealed during the conversation.
