New Two and a Half Men and Charlie Sheen Roast to Premiere Tonight
Monday night television will feature both the season premiere of “Two and a Half Men” as well as Charlie Sheen’s roast.
Formerly starring on “2.5 Men”, Sheen was fired from CBS in March after a public meltdown. The roast, which will air on Comedy Central, will likely touch on the 46-year-old’s angry rant about his former work associates and tumultuous life.
During the Emmy Awards on Sunday night, Sheen displayed goodwill toward the “Men,” saying, “From the bottom of my heart, I wish nothing but the best for this upcoming season.”
“We spent eight wonderful years together, and I know you will continue to make great television,” Sheen continued, while audience members held their breath.
Fox was reportedly pressured to cut Sheen from presenting at the awards show for fear he would offend.
Sheen’s attempts to rebuild his image did not stop there. To further emphasize his friendliness, he tweeted a picture after the Emmy’s ceremony of himself and his replacement on “Men,” Ashton Kutcher.
“Giving the new kid a little advice!” Sheen wrote on his Twitter account, alongside the photo.
Later, Sheen tweeted again, “Seriously… @aplusk [Ashton Kutcher], great talking to you! We’ll all be watching! Make us proud!”
The season premiere of “Men” Monday night will mark Kutcher’s debut on the show, where he plays Walden Schmidt.
“We have an extraordinary actor in Ashton Kutcher,” said CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler during the Television Critics Association press tour last month. “You have someone who is committed to doing their job and is incredibly professional. “
“Two and a Half Men” will air on CBS Monday at 9 p.m. EST.
Sheen’s Comedy Central Roast airs a half an hour after the premiere of “Men,” to ensure he does not steal the spotlight.
