Swift Fan Mail in Dumpster: 'Accidentally' Placed in Recycling? (PHOTO)
Taylor Swift is facing controversy after hundreds of fan letters addressed to the country star surfaced in a Nashville dumpster over the weekend.
Swift's teams has claimed that they have no idea how the letters wound up in the dumpster. They announced plans to pick the mail up immediately and believe the letters may have wound up there as a part of a mix-up.
"Taylor gets thousands of fan letters everyday and they are delivered to her management office. After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled," spokesperson Paula Erickson told WKRN-TV.

Erikson suggested that the unopened letters might have been confused with a pile that had already been read and were headed for the recycling bin.
"The only explanation for any letters being unopened would be that a small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling center," she added.
The letters were found by Kylee Francescan at Granberry School, located off of Old Hickory Boulevard, according to WKRN. Francescan had been recycling her own material when she noticed the box.
Erikson apologized for the misunderstanding and thanked the new channel for bringing the issue to their attention so that it could be remedied.
"We sincerely appreciate Channel 2 bringing this to our attention, and we plan to immediately pick up the mail,"she stated.
Swift chose not to address the incident using her Twitter, although she did update her account concerning the appearance of her music video "21" on "Good Morning America."
Francescan held no hard feelings towards Swift.
"I know how much her fans mean to her," she told the television station.
Earlier this week, photos of Swift visiting fans in Nebraska who were battling cancer surfaced on the internet.
