Auburn University President Christopher Roberts issued a statement on Thursday to mourn the loss of Drew Dauphin, who graduated from the Alabama-based school in 2023.
"On behalf of Auburn University, I send my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of 2023 graduate Drew Dauphin, who was taken from us in the New Orleans terror attack," Roberts said in a statement shared on the school’s social media page.
"Words cannot convey the sorrow the Auburn family feels for Drew’s family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time,” he added.
USA Today reported that Dauphin’s LinkedIn profile states that he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering. The Auburn University graduate also worked at the school’s radio frequency identification lab while working toward his degree, according to the report.
“Drew was an excellent co-worker and always brought a positive attitude to the lab. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his friends and family," the Auburn University RFID Lab. "He will be greatly missed."
