'Words cannot convey the sorrow': All 14 people killed in New Orleans terrorist attack identified

Elliot Wilkinson

Elliot Wilkinson, 40, had just been released from prison and was living on the streets, according to a CNN report updated this week. The victim’s older brother, Cecil Wilkinson, confirmed to the Cable News Channel that his sibling struggled with mental health issues and went to New Orleans instead of staying with family because he didn’t want to be a burden.

The coroner’s office informed the older brother of Wilkinson’s death on Thursday morning, according to CNN. In addition to a brother, the victim also leaves behind a mother, another brother, sister and daughter.

“To my little brother Elliot Wilkinson, you [were] loved and you will truly be missed,” Wilkinson’s brother wrote in a Friday Facebook post. “I know life was hard for you at times. But I wasn’t expecting to get the phone call … you [were among those who] got hit in New Orleans in the French Quarter.”
